We are a nineteenth century Iron making Blast Furnace and Museum.

A small museum with a big story

Built in 1804 the furnace had stopped making iron by 1811 and was then used as housing by the local collieries for the mine workers and their families.

Come and immerse yourself in the long and varied history the of the furnace, or take a boat trip on our Narrowboat - Joseph wilkes.
