Take a leisurely trip along part of the restored Ashby Canal on our beautiful heritage boat, The Joseph Wilkes.
Trips take 15 minutes and give you the chance to see the canal from a new and unique viewpoint.
The trips leave every 20 minutes starting at 10.20 am with the last trip at 3.40 pm
Tickets can be purchased from the museum during opening times.
Adults: £3
Children 4-16 yrs: £2
3 and under: Free
Family ticket: £9 (2 adults + 2 children)
No bookings taken in advance

Joseph wilkes boat trips
Private boat hire
The Joseph Wilkes is available to hire for private trips, we staff it, you sit back and enjoy the ride.
We offer 3 options, varying in length, so there is something to suit everyone.
Moira to Donisthorpe, 50 minutes: £72
Moira to Bath Yard Basin through the locks, 1 hour: £100 (4 weeks’ notice need for this option)
End-to-end run, 2 hours: £160 (4 weeks’ notice need for this option)
Please note, we can take no more than 12 passengers on-board during a trip.
