September is a busy month for local tourist attractions and we are joining in with the Heritage events at Moira Furnace Museum & Country Park.
Some of the 'Famous 50' will take up residence at the Museum celebrating the first 50 Coalville volunteers set foot on French soil. Each life sized wooden soldier is unique and specially designed to represent one of the men.
There will be free entry to the Museum on 8th/9th and 15th/16th September.
On Saturday 8th September there will be bookable Museum tours, a refreshments tent and table top sale during the day along with the usual Joseph Wilkes boat trips. Also on site will be the Heart of the Forest Heritage group with an exhibition of photos telling the story of the Industrial Heritage of the area.
Why not bring the family along with a picnic and celebrate your heritage with us - don't forget those great value ice creams, cool drinks, snacks and souvenirs in the Museum shop.
UNFORTUNATELY THIS EVENT IS POSTPONED DUE TO THE FORECAST OF BAD WEATHER
Curly Magpie propose to reschedule the Vintage and Handmade crafts event for Sunday 9th September. More details to be posted on this website and Facebook.
Please note that Museum will be open throughout the Bank Holiday weekend 11am-4pm as usual.
