Congratulations to the five boys who joined us for the minibeast hunt today. The rain didn’t deter us and by the time we reached the butterfly bank the sun was beating down.
The eagle eyed hunters with their hand lenses managed to spot - ants, woodlice, a ladybird, a Red Admiral butterfly, spiders, a Harvestman, centipedes, millipedes, beetles and, most bizarrely of all, a snail on the curved roof inside the lime kilns! Almost a full house from our spotters sheet.
During the day people travelling on the boat had also seen our first Damselflies of the season so keep your eyes peeled for more.
Thanks to all of the families who joined in our Summer Safari activity this weekend - we look forward to seeing you again soon.
