Well done to our intrepid group who took part in the Summer Safari Bug Hunt today. In spite of the recent downpours we managed to find a range of minibeast species in the woodland around the Furnace Museum.
We followed the trail and found - slugs, spiders, aphids, woodlice, ants, bees, millipedes and centipedes. Along the way we found out some fascinating facts about these and other creatures.
Jackson showed us a minibeast hotel that he has built with friends in Pit Prop Wood. Thanks Jackson - great work creating a special habitat.
Looking forward to repeating the activity with a new group to see what else we can spot. If you want to take part come along to the Museum shop Sunday 16th June at 1pm.
