Hambleton School visit

Fantastic Friday down at the Furnace as we laid on a full day of educational activities for 16 children and accompanying staff from a Yorkshire school. They had been on residential at the YHA and finished their stay with a visit to MFMT.

They were kept busy with Museum Tours, DVD’s about Iron manufacture and life on the canal during the war, a boat trip, our casting activity and a Victorian wash day experience - the children especially enjoyed using the dolly, posser and mangle to launder the clothes - who’d have thought it!!

As the children had to set off mid afternoon they weren’t able to take their plaster castings with them but they are now all prepared ready for dispatch after the Easter Holiday. They’re looking fabulous and ready for painting once you are back in school. You can get a sneak preview of them on the image for this Blog.

It was great to meet you all. We thank you for visiting and your interest and engagement during the day. What a lovely group of people.
